What will change?

To maintain stable supply and design consistency across the new SDS-3000/G3000 Series, several chips and other components will be changed. Some minor changes would also be made to the appearance, but they will not affect the dimensions of the products.

The following changes will be implemented in the new versions:

• The rotary DIP switch will be added to the bottom of the SDS-3008 Series to align with the design of the new SDS-3000/G3000 Series and provide an easier configuration option.
• A one-side screw will be added to the terminal block to provide better reliability. The current terminal block is compatible with the new top panel design.
• Minor appearance changes:
  • The I/O position on the top panel shifts slightly, placing it in the middle of the panel.
  • The inscription with the port number shifts slightly.
• The latest firmware version v3.2, with added functions including Fiber Check and Trusted Access, will be included in the new product versions. Firmware version v3.0 or after is compatible with both current and new hardware version products, but firmware version v2.2 or before is not compatible with the new hardware product versions.

• Rotary DIP switch settings rule: In FWR v3.0, Modbus TCP default changes from default enabled to default disabled because of the security enhancement, adding Modbus TCP-related configurations on Indicator 5 and 6. In addition, to include more diversified applications, MECHATROLINK-4 configuration is also added on Indicator 7 in FWR v3.2 and after.

  When will the new versions be available?

  We will keep supplying the current version and perform a running change from August 2025 to phase in the V2.0.0 version.
